As a believe in Jesus Christ, in response to question what is goal setting? I think it is important to know what your spiritual goals are and then go from there. For starters:
Break down your goals into short term and long terms goals:
Short Term:
a) Spend more time in the Word reading The Bible the Word of God, how much time is decided by you, maybe only 15-30 minutes extra a day or a week, the point is to start
b) Get more involved with your church (baby sitting, church out reach, choir, missions, etc)
c) commit on tithing more to God through your local church or ministry
d) commit on attending church every Sunday
e) Commit on sharing God's word of salvation to other nonbeliever's, at least once a week
f) mending any relationships that you need to ask forgiveness and in turn forgive others
Long Term:
a) Work on areas of your character/life that are not pleasing (lust, envy, deceitful acts, etc), ask God to help you in areas that you need to improve (Life is a work in progress)
b) Getting involved in mission opportunities (both local and abroad), ask God to reveal Himself to you in what He would like you to do.
c) Learn to discern more.

It is useful to employ visualization to your goal setting work. Can you see what a day is like after you completed your goal? Can you see what the day is like after your company completes the goal you laid out for it. If you look at that day in your minds eye everyday between now and then you win.
