"Mosque" isn't the correct term for the planned structure near "ground zero" in NYC, although many people are calling it that. Plans are for an Islamic community center which will also have a prayer room. There are two camps, pro and con, for a center to be located that close to where the World Trade Center was attacked by terrorist Muslims but the reasons vary:
Pro
1. Freedom of Religion to build where they choose
2. Muslims have always been in that area
3. It will build "bridges" among the different faiths in that area
4. Muslims were also killed in the attack
5. Site not actual part of ground zero
Con
1. Freedom of Religion not denied; there are more than 100 mosques in NYC
2. That location is hallowed ground; they are still finding bone fragments
3. The Imam has not denounced bin Laden, Hezbollah, other terrorist groups
4. Sensitivity - wounds are still too fresh to build anything Islamic near there
5. Ground zero - plane engine and debris from fallen towers landed on current structure's roof
yes, ofcousre there are, there are four main walls going around the mosque, its not a building without walls in them -Dreamer
Typically by going to the mosque and praying.
By going to their mosque regularly and following the Koran.
the imam reads it out loud while giving lectures but when prayer is not going on, people usually read it by themself
yes they could pray at home
The great Mosque of Djenne, Niger River, Mali national museum, Bamako Mosque and many, many, more!( that i ' m not going to take the time to research!)
Well, since there people attacked ours, Americans are probably going to attack there's. Somebody already peed in one of there mosque to show hatred for what they are building there near ground zero (a 13 story high mosque) I'm not sure what people are going to do but there have been protest and I don't think it's gonna be there long, if they even build it. Sorry 13 story high mosque.
Muslim ladies are allowed and encouraged to go to the mosque (the Prophet himself said not to stop them), but unfortunately some misguided people try to prevent and discourage them.
