Is there a grace period for expired tag violations in California?

SACRAMENTO (CBS 5) - "In July, a legislative deal prevented the Department of Motor Vehicles from sending out registration renewal notices on time. Because of this, the DMV gave all drivers a 30-day extension to pay and a 60-day grace period before law enforcement would be allowed to issue tickets and citations."

Is there a grace period for expired Ga driver license?

The answer to this question - as of the year 2012 - is both 'yes' and 'no.' The specific law that regulates this is 56-3-840 of the SC Code of Laws. Here's what it basically says in a nutshell: 1) If you don't renew your license plate *before* its expiration date, you *will* be charged a late fee by the SC Department of Motor Vehicles. The amount of this late fee will depend on how many days out-of-date your tag is. The late fee will either be $10, $25, $50, or $75. 2) Having a tag that is *more* than 30 days out-of-date is a misdemeanor which basically means that a cop *can* write you an 'expired tag' ticket which - as of 2012 - runs at least $155. If your tag is *less* than 30 days out-of-date, the *inference* in the law is that you have *not* committed a misdemeanor which (technically) means a cop *cannot* write you an 'expired tag' ticket. One final word of caution: most larger/professional police agencies in SC are aware of this law especially as it relates to point number 2 above. However, you may run across a rookie cop who is not aware of it. In that case, you may get an 'expired tag' ticket even if your tag is only 1 day out-of-date. Just print up a copy of the 56-3-840 law and - instead of waiting for your court date - bring this law to the attention of the cop's superiors (ie, chief or sheriff). If that doesn't work, bring a copy of the law with you to court and show it to the judge. And if *that* doesn't work... oh, well, just fork $155+ over to BFE SC! So, to summarize: Yes, there is a grace period of 30 days *before it becomes a misdemeanor* but, no, there really isn't a grace period because if your tag is expired you're going to end up paying money to somebody!

Is citation for for an expired automobile registration tag a moving violation?

Not in the state of Arizona. In Arizona you do not get "points" on your driving record nor can you take a driving course/class instead of paying the fine.

What if you drive with expired tag in gwinnette county?

I would suggest you get the expired tags renewed as soon as possible. Depending upon your driving record and the length of time the tags have been expired, you may be ticketed and your car may be impounded if you are caught by law enforcement.
