I actually have haemocromotosis, so do my brothers and mother. And I am very sure so did my father. It's too much iron in the blood, and for people like my family, it doesn't matter what we eat, as doctors have told each of us at different times we would get iron out of water. The only so called cure for us is to have venesections on a regular basis. Which means going to the hospital and having blood drained from us. As far as I know, there is a particular blood test to diagnose the condition. So if you are feeling tired, lethargic, cranky... get tested. There has always got to be a 1st one in someones family to be the 1st diagnosed. I've been told left untreated that it will kill. Because it apparently causes cancer in major organs such as liver, heart, kidneys etc. If you are like me and female.. the ovaries are a concern too. I ended up with cysts in the ovaries, the cure? complete hysterctomy. Don't leave things to chance, if you are feeling just off, and can't put your finger on it.. get tested...
