i have thought a lot about this.
i believe the line would be the current border between san Luis obispo and santa Barbara counties-- this line is at nipomo.
i live 10 minutes north of nipomo (pismo beach) so unfortunately i would be lumped into nor-cal...bla! im a so-cal at heart!
alternately, the line would be at paso robles. but SLO seems to be more of a nor-cal type feel than so-cal.
if the line was above paso robles, then bakersfield would be part of so-cal, and Fresno part of norcal. if the line was at nipomo/santa maria, then bakersfield and all above it would be nor cal. hmmm
...what do you guys think?
Outside Madera California on freeway 99 there is a Palm tree planted and a sign. This is the actual geological halfway point between northern and Southern California.
Fresno is smack in the center of the state, so I say Fresno.
