Tea has been scientifically proven to be healthy, while coffee is rather unhealthy.

A Broader Look:

This is one of those eternal arguments. Opponents of coffee site higher caffeine contents in coffee, however most caffeinated teas, predominantly black and orange Pekoe have dramatically higher caffeine contents than coffee by weight. Green tea in fact is one of the highest naturally occurring sources of caffeine. Tea drinkers site naturally occurring sources of antioxidants, fluoride and tannins in tea and the anecdotal health benefits of these elements. However, the levels of all three are essentially the same and occasionally higher (especially antioxidants) in coffee. Fluoride content is more a matter of the natural level of the substance in the soils in which the plants are grown.

By and large, there is little nutritional difference between tea and coffee aside from the plants from which each is harvested.
