Honestly, I've been around so many men and women in my life and asked numerous emotional type questions towards them. The responses I received from women tend to be the right one, so I would have to say women to this question.

Emotional intelligence: the ability to monitor our own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate between them and to use this information to guide our thinking and actions.

Four dimensions in reverse hierarchy order

- Self-awareness: perceiving and understanding the meaning of your own emotions

> Lowest level of hierarchy - a prerequisite to the other three

- Self management : managing your own emotions (controlling our emotions)

- Social awareness: the ability to perceive and understand other's emotions

> Empathy: having understanding and sensitivity to the feelings, thoughts, and situations of others

- Relationship management: managing other people's emotions (consoling others, inspiring and encouraging others, getting others to feel comfortable with you, etc)

>Highest level of EI because it requires you to be able to understand and manage not only your own emotions but also that of others

EI increases with age and training.

A person with high EI is believed to have master all of the above. S/he is aware and able to manage the relationships of her/his own and that of others.
