A hologram is an image that seems like it exists in three dimensions. Currently, the only real holograms are laser sketched images that appear to pop out of a picture. The Science Fiction version of a hologram is a complete 3D image that exists completely by itself with no back. Unfortunately, this is not possible because there would be nothing to stop the light particles to place them according to three dimensions.
