What are the three control centers in the Medulla?
Medulla (Oblongata)(part of the brain stem) contains an
autonomic reflex center involved in maintaining
homeostasis of important visceral organs. It contains several
centers:
1. The cardiac center adjusts force and rate of heart
contraction.
2. The vasomotor center regulates blood pressure by acting on
smooth muscle
in the walls of peripheral arterioles.
3. The respiratory center controls the depth and rhythm of
breathing.
