Can't answer this without knowing where in NJ. If you are anywhere in the North of the state take I84. Otherwise, dunno.
Better to tell us the actual location you're leaving from, as there are two stretches of road funded as I84 - one from PA to MA, and one from OR to UT.
Sandy Hook Elementary School is located in the state of Connecticut. Its street address is #12 Dickenson Drive, Sandy Hook, Connecticut 06482. It is near I84.

Boston, MA to Belmar, NJ is about 284 miles using I84 East. If you drive non-stop it will take at least 4 hours and 22 minutes at a constant 65 mph. Add time for stops and delays.
It is roughly 1700 miles from Boise, ID to Chicago, IL. The halfway point between these two cities would be 850 miles, which would put you around Sidney, Nebraska.
According to Mapquest, it is 204.73 miles driving distance between the two, assuming you follow the recommended I84 to I80 to US 40 route. Straight line air distance between the two is somewhere around 110 or 120 miles.

I've done the trip to just inside the Pennsylvania state line via I95 to I90 to the Taconic Parkway and then I84 to I17A north. The time was 14 hours to Chickopee. Then 3 to 4 hours the next day to Pennsylvania. Have a good and safe Trip
The simplest way to drive to New Hampshire is to take the beltway to 95N. Continue North on 95N and then the NJ Turnpike. Cross over the George Washington Bridge at NYC then continue north on 87. In Connecticut take CT 15 and the I84 E in Massachusetts. Take I90 / I 290 north to New Hampshire.
