The book says 4 degrees BTDC for a F100
The factory service manual specifies eight degrees before top dead center. With unleaded fuel though, you may have to play with it a couple degrees either way.

There is no ignition timing to set on a diesel. If you have somehow disturbed the injector timing you'll have to take it to a dealer, as setting that requires special equipment.
There is no provision for setting the ignition timing. The timing is set by the computer by way of engine sensors sending signals to it by such things as temperature, load, speed, and intake air.
There is no provision for setting the timing. It is controlled by the computer according to engine load, temperature, intake charge and mass air flow.
need to know what size engine well... assuming that the 3.0 and the 4.0 both have timing chains... wouldn't it be rational to say that its the 2.3 liter?
12 degrees BTDC with the automatic transmission ( unless the engine compartment decal shows different )
