150 meters
In order to drive an ambulance you must have an EMT certification and a commercial drivers license.
This is the doppler effect. If an ambulance is driving towards Jon, the sound waves are tightly stacked in front of the ambulance and are heard by Jon at a high frequency (high pitch). But behind the ambulance the sound waves are lagging because the ambulance is driving away from they sound waves (they are moving in the opposite direction) thus if Jon was standing behind the ambulance the frequency heard would be low (low pitch). The actual sound an ambulance makes is actually obnoxious, and if 100 of them drive by someone's apartment each day, it will make their head hurt and they will often think about why ambulances are so annoying.
You should not drive too close to a motorcycle when you are behind it. The distance depends on the speed. With increased speed, the distance increases. Allow plenty of room, which in my opinion means over a hundred meters or more.
If your motorcycle is old enough to have been sold new without them, you are not required to have them.

keep a minimum time of two seconds behind ^Most common answer on DMV Permit Tests is: A Safe Distance. May sound stupid, but no one ever said the government was smart.
Normally about 100 feet depending upon speed. I once passed an ambulance with full lights going. It was only going 45 mph on a 55 mph road. I wanted to do 55mph so I passed it. It was hard to see ahead of the ambulance to pass because of the blinding flashers, but I made it ok. Left the ambulance in the DUST.
Almost 14 hours behind the wheel. The distance is 922 miles.
Hearse is behind the Hospital in Staunton. Drive around and you'll see what looks like a station wagon parked out back opposite side of the ambulance. You have to get there from the street.
