What is the percentage of imidacloprid used by homeowners vs agriculture?

imidacloprid is used in various forms and you cannot compare them in this manor. I would recommend referring to the label on the product and not using it for a manor your type does not have listed. While the active is the same the delivery might be different. Kind of like rubbing aspirin on your forehead to get rid of a headache.

What is the best pesticide for the Jatropha tree?

Pesticides with the active ingredient imidacloprid are effective choices for the Jatropha tree.Specifically, the Jatropha tree tends to be described as pest-free. But it may have problems with cutworms (Agrotis ipsilon), stink bugs (Nezara viridula) and tip borer caterpillars (Dichocrosis punctiferalis). Imidacloprid may be applied as a soil drench to solve soil pests such as cutworms. But it also may be applied as foliar spray or trunk injection to solve above ground pests.

Is a flea product containing Imidacloprid safe to use for ant control?

Firstly, no chemical (especially pesticides) should be used for a purpose for which it was not intended. Secondly, imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid. These products remain in the environment for years and are toxic to wildlife. They are mobile in water, can contaminate ground water (through run off into soil, drains, puddles etc), and remain in the soil for YEARS! Research has shown that when used to treat the soil, it continued to be taken up by plants even during years when it was not applied. Even the microscopic levels taken up by the plants were lethal to bees. To get rid of ants, I recommend you research organic methods on the internet. You could also try boiling water, depending on where the ants are. If the ants are getting into your house (i once had this problem), spray a dilution of bleach on the surfaces. This cured my ants problem almost completely within a day. You may get an occasional ant coming in, but if you keep spraying for a while, you'll soon get NO ANTS - I don't get any now. Neonicotinoids are highly toxic, and I wouldn't even use them in the garden, personally. Neonicotinoids include imidacloprid acetimacloprid, clothianidin, thiacloprid, thiamethoxam, dinotefuran and nitenpyram. I avoid all of these.

What do you do if BayerAdvanced is used on Leyland cypress?

Do not worry about BayerAdvanced being used on Leyland cypress (× Cupressocyparis leylandii).Specifically, the tree is very sturdy. It knows how to survive and flourish during stress. The use of BayerAdvanced for one pest problem may bring on another. For example, Bayer's active ingredient imidacloprid solves one problem, only to be confronted with a spider mite problem. It just takes organic treatments with horticultural oil or insecticidal soap to solve the spider mite problem.

What is the active ingredient in advantage?

The active ingredient is imidacloprid, which acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death. Within 12 hours of application, 98-100 percent of fleas are dead. Advantage kills fleas before they lay eggs, so their life cycle is broken at multiple stages. It also kills flea larvae within 20 minutes of contact. Cautions:Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using any pesticide product for pets. If signs persist, or become more severe, consult a veterinarian immediately

What is the common name of Otiorhynchus sulcatus?

Black vine weevil is the common name of Otiorhynchus sulcatus. It's one of two weevils whose feeding leaves azalea leaves notched or scalloped along the margins. The feeding also may cause the leaves to yellow, drop or curl. Additionally, the larval stage of these two weevils tends to attack the plant's roots. It's considered a serious pest. The grubs may be controlled below ground by a soil drench, such as with imidacloprid.
