What does the computer case do?

The computer case houses and supports the motherboard, peripheral cards, power supply, and disk drives that make up the computer. A computer inside a case is less subject to many of the stresses that could otherwise impair its functionality.Answer:Certain kind of cases holds certain types of parts, parts that where meant to be held in that type of case.Keeping the case in good condition helps maintain good air flow inside of it, this is important for proper and healthy operation of the parts built to fit inside it.The case is the embodiment of the computer.Just like your body holds your soft parts inside of it, and your parts are meant to be in your body. Some parts can fit in almost any computer and these are non proprietary parts and even can be call standard parts. Some parts can only fit into certain cases made by certain manufactures like HP, DELL, and Gateway these companies make cases that usually contain parts that can only fit into their computers. There are also cases that can hold what is called multiple form factors this referrer's to the shape and size of one part called the motherboard.Sometimes cases can only hold one type of motherboard form factor.ATX family or BTX family form factor are the more widely used with the ATX family being the industry Standard. If you would like to know more about motherboards copy and paste the following into the wiki Answer question fieldThe computer case serves several purposes.1. How do you clean inside of a computer if you are not an expert?

You shouldn't open the case of a computer unless you know all of the safety precautions involved, including but not exclusively:- NEVER SPRAY ANY LIQUID inside a computer or around the air vents- do not touch RAM slots or cards- do not touch or wipe motherboards- do not touch exposed wiring of hard drives and socketsGenerally, a tower PC functions without cleaning for many months, except to wipe dust from the exterior air vents. Perhaps after a year or two, enough dust may enter the case to require opening the case and gently blowing out any dust and hair that could clog the vents. These vents are relatively large holes and do not have screening that could trap dust and defeat their purpose.

How do you clean a computer case?

To clean the outside of the case you can use a dry cloth to remove the dust. For more stubborn dirt on the outside of the case you can lightly mist the cloth with water (do NOT get towel wet enough that any moisture drips from it.) To clean the inside of the case you must turn the computer off and unplug the system before opening the case. Once power is disconnected you can open the case and use a can of compressed air (do NOT use a air compressor because air from a compressor will have moisture in it and can damage your system) to blow the dirt and dust off all components.

How come your computer overheats when you get on?

Why is this computer overheating. it never used to and now after a year or so it is. is it dust or spam clutter?

If it has not been used for a while then it is probably dust in the fan. The way to fix this is to open the computer tower and using a cotton swab clean all of the fans inside of the computer.
