Yes and no. It all depends on the cakemix. If the cakemix has a "good source of iron" in it and you have an EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY STRONG MAGNET, then yes. Betty Crocker, and that is not.

Go to like walmart and buy a cake (or cakemix)
Hi there, I'm from Canada and I spoke to my aunt from Boston. And she told me about your sugar reduced cake mixes. So being from Yarmouth Nova Scotia I went to our local grocery store. (Superstore and Sobeys) Neither of these stores carry these cake mixes. Would like to know if they are avaible in Canada . If so where would I find them in Nova Scotia??
If you mix the cake mix and follow the directions on the box to bake it, then the heat will cause the cake batter to react and produce a baked cake. The same is true for other foods that one bakes, the heat reacts with the ingredients and causes the change that produces a finished product.
Of Course! One very quick and easy way of making a lovely moist cake without eggs, oil, butter or margarine is to just blend it with a block of silken Tofu (soft or firm). And then cook it as per instructions. Saves on the calories too. Otherwise, just melt the same amount of butter or margarine to replace the oil, and add that.
