Fats are a type of energy store. They provide three times as much energy as carbohydarates. They are particularly important in endurance events where alot of energy is needed for respiring muscles. Fats are alo important as part of a healthy diest. They help with vitamin absoption which are essential for many bodily reactions. They also help to form neurones and are important for nerve impulses and making hormones.
yes and a few more but having the same basic atoms doesnt mean its the same thing. lipids contain carbon and hydrogen carbohydarates contian carbon and hydrogen as well but they also contain oxygen ratios of the number of certain atoms in them are differnet
