Nicotine, one of the most highly-addictive substances known.
Tobacco
No. Total myth. Doesn't make any medical sense at all. Smoking tobacco is bad for you, but smoking marijuana before it won't make it worse. In Europe and Australia, people often smoke tobacco with weed. I personally enjoy a cigarette after a bong while I'm coming up.
It does for some people but me personally can go days without smoking. I figure it makes it hard for them because they are addicted. Tobacco is addicting.
no, tobacco tastes horrible.. and ive been smoking for about 5 years. and it only starts to make you feel good after you've been smoking it for a while..
People make tobacco. People grow the tobacco plant, pick the leaves, the leaves are dried and cut and this is what we call tobacco.
No matter what, tobacco (in any form) is bad for you. The only semi-reasonable argument somebody could make for smoking is that it lowers your risk of obesity as the nicotine in tobacco is an appetite suppressant.
There are many ways the media influences teen tobacco use. One way is modeling. If a celebrity uses tobacco, teens may see it as 'cool' and want to do it. If they see celebrities eschewing tobacco use, they may think smoking is bad and not want to do it. Another way is exposure. Merely being exposed to images of people smoking may increase a teen's desire to smoke (even if it is not someone they admire). Any way the media can make smoking seem cool or not cool will affect teen tobacco use.
No, because if that happens, then the US politicians will have to find something else to tax heavily (like alcohol and fast food) to make up for no tobacco sales. Never mind the fact people are gonna keep smoking cigs forever even if they were illegal. Lots of people smoke weed and that other leaf is illegal in most states already.
Probably to make people aware of the dangers of smoking.
NO. People may believe that smoking kills you, and it can, but they make their own choice to smoke. If there is a death caused by smoking, there realy isn't anyone to blame except the smoker his/herself. Lay off the companies, but if there's no Surgeon General warning on the advertisement, then you may have a case there.
Smoking releases dopamine in the brain which then activates reward circuit responses. When you smoke marijuana and tobacco together your body associates both of them with the feel of nicotine, making you crave marijuana as much as you would crave nicotine if you tried to quit tobacco.
Heredity can play a role in tobacco addiction through genetic factors that influence how an individual's brain responds to nicotine. Certain genetic variations can make some people more susceptible to becoming addicted to nicotine when they start smoking. However, environmental factors, such as peer influence and social settings, also play a significant role in the development of tobacco addiction alongside genetics.
