unconformities
It is called an unconformity.
A dis-conformity is an unconformity representing a period of erosion or lack of deposition in a sedimentary rock section.
disconformity
Apologies, but I do not know what unconformity you are referring to. However, I can tell you that conglomerate IS present as an unconformity in many cases due to the nature of it's formation. Conglomerate is often produced during a flash-flood, so all rock strata from the period appear interrupted by the unconformity of Conglomerate which was deposited very quickly, then after burial was cemented and lithified. My answer, therefore, is that conglomerate is common as an unconformity.
unconformities
An unconformity is the contact between two layers representing a gap in the geologic record, usually from the erosion of the layers which would normally be expected to appear.
Unconformity
Unconformity
Unconformities are surfaces that represent gaps in the geologic record that formed wherever layers were not deposited for a time or else layers were removed by erosion.
A gap in an area's geologic history is called an unconformity.
An unconformity leaves a gap in the geological record
It is called an unconformity.
It is called an unconformity.
Erosion
The folding or tilting of rocks, followed by renewed deposition, has to occur to create an angular unconformity.
A dis-conformity is an unconformity representing a period of erosion or lack of deposition in a sedimentary rock section.
