When you take a dreadlock and push it through an opening in your new grow pulling it all the way securely back out the other side. Do this over and over in opposite directions each pass through until you near the scalp. You can use a crochet (latch) hook or other tools to help. Once at the root your final pull through should be the direction you want the dread to fall.
