Best Answer

A solid gas, like dry ice (frozen carbon dioxide), is already frozen and will continue to be frozen if it is cooled. If a liquid is cooled to its freezing point, then it will freeze and become a solid.

Is solid gas?

A gas is a gas, as the name suggests. It can, along with liquid be referred to as a fluid. Cooled and pressurised sufficiently it can become a liquid and cooled further, a solid.

What substance would gas change into if it was cooled?

a liquid then if cooled further it would turn into a solid a liquid then if cooled further it would turn into a solid

When matter changes from one state to another?

Condensation (gas to liquid or solid or liquid to solid), vaporization (liquid or solid to gas), sublimation (solid to gas), solidification (liquid to solid), or melting (solid to liquid).

What is the process of converting a gas to a liquid is called?

evaporation solid to liquid - melting liquid to gas - evaporation gas to liquid - condensation liquid to solid - freezing solid to gas and gas to solid - sublimation

When a gas is cooled and changed into a liquid what is this called?

it is called condensation

The process of converting a liquid to a gas is called what?

evaporation solid to liquid - melting liquid to gas - evaporation gas to liquid - condensation liquid to solid - freezing solid to gas and gas to solid - sublimation

To change from a gas to a liquid is called?

'boiling' or 'vaporization'

The three states of mater are?

The Three Principal are Soild, Liquid, and Gas

How each state changes and what it is called?

* solid to liquid: melting* liquid to solid: freezing* liquid to gas: vaporization* gas to liquid: liquefaction* solid to gas: sublimation* gas to solid: deposition

How does heating and cooling cause changes in matter?

When you heat something, you get to do from solid to liquid, and that called melting. The liquid to a gas its called vaporzation and evaporation. A solid to a gas its called sublimation. When you cool something, you get to do from gas to liquid its called condensation. A liquid to a solid called freezing. A gas turn straight to a solid called deposition.

What is the other called for solid liquid and gas?

Solid, liquid, gas are classical states of matter.

What are the change of states of matter called?

solid to liquid = melting liquid to solid = freezing liquid to gas = evaporation gas to liquid = condensation solid to gas = sublimation (aka vaporisation) gas to solid = de-sublimation
