If the hypothesis is confirmed then you probably consider it a success. But sometimes you can learn something valuable when the hypothesis is disproved (or rejected).
Something important, though, is that the results of the experiment must be repeatable. There is a nice YouTube video on Sixty Symbols channel, where they go to Ethiopia to teach Physics and show how they can demonstrate Physics through experiments using supplies that are readily available to them. They also teach the scientific method. One thing I remember him saying in the video about performing an experiment multiply times for repeated results. He said something to the effect: 3 times is a minimum, 5 times is good, and 10 is great.
