Fumes or gaseous material can lead to hazardous affects like pulling out he cornea if not taken proper care of.

∙ 14y agoIt is important to remove contact lenses, rings, and watches before working in a lab because when working in a lab, you come in contact with dangerous chemicals. It is a possibility that the chemicals or fumes may become entrapped behind the contact lenses, or in/under the jewelry.
