it needs a new transmission
if an automatic transmission is grinding in reverse it is probably an internal failure. The car will probably need a good mechanic who specializes in transmissions to look at it to be sure. I have seen some cars with a simple linkage problem do this...but its unlikely.
you put the gear in reverse and slowly let up the clutch until the car starts moving. then just ride the clutch so you don't kill the engine.
reverse extinction is where an animals population rapidly starts to increase.
countershaft bearing could be problem
Probably an alternator.
Brakes or wheel bearings. Have it looked into ASAP.
If your Gas tank is not empty, you may have a problem with your starter.
you put diamond dust on the grinding wheel.
Hey K==It will start grinding in reverse and hard to shift in foreward gears. GoodluckJoe
I have a 1992 Chevy berretta 3.1 V6 and when it is in park and reverse and neutral it sounds like there is a grinding noise right below the shifter I know that the linkage needs adjusting any ideas
verso
Yeah my 1991 Ford Tempo does the same thing it starts and idles no problem but if i stop at a gas station and leave it running and come back out to the car i put it in reverse or drive it dies every once in a while
