I don't know about the serial #, but I can tell you that a new model 25 MSRP's at 588$, you can find them online for ~ 490 - 515$ but you can't purchase, or at least receive your purchase, without a FFL. Someone with an FFL will likely upcharge you in the neighborhood of 30$(rare) to 150$.

You can also order the gun from big Sports stores like Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops. I am interested in the thumhole variety and priced one yesterday at Bass Pro. 629.99$ b4 taxes, so ~ 680$ or so after. The non-thumbhole (regular stock) is a bit less, probably 579 - 599 or so. So call it ~ 650 after taxes.

So I would say the gun is worth ~ 550$ to 650$ if brand new and regular stock (a little more if thumbhole), depending on where/how you get the gun. If not brand new then value goes down according to condition.
