What is keeping wind power from widepread?
Most view it as a sore sight.
There are several problems:
- It is new and people are generally slow to adopt new technology
- Small facilities are expensive and users are more used to long amortization periods on power supplies
- Anti wind power groups spread rumors abort impacts on birds and bats
- The aesthetics are objectionable to some
- There is always a strong NIMBY input
- IT is replacement technology for a system many see as working "well enough"
The effectiveness of wind power depends on where the wind power is coming from. Certain locations with a lot of wind are deemed effective at supplying wind power.
Wind power, Wind Power, WIND POWER!
solar power comes from the sun and is generated from solar pannals. wind power comes from the wind and is generated from wind mills.
Wind power is powered by spinning turbines so that when the wind blows, it will produce power.
wind power comes from the wind but the wind is not all also you don't need the wind all the time.
Yes, wind power and wind energy are the same things.
the wind turns the wind mill generating wind power
When there's no wind and when there's too much wind.
dislike on wind power who did the wind power chanch the world
Wind power is just that power--- so in all ways that power is useful wind power is useful ... to add to that comment... it is a cleaner way of creating power.
Air or Wind power is any thing using this for movement , a Wind mill uses wind power to move large sails to convert to mechanical power to grind grain.
wind power is kinetic energy. wind power is transfered into elctricity energy ect.
Wind power depends on using wind to make electricity.
Wind power, or wind energy, is a scientific term.
Windmills can make power with wind.
wind power produces electricity
A power station that produces electricity by wind power
wind is better than hydro because wind generate more power then hydro
solar power gets energy from the sun using solar panelsbut wind power uses a wind turbine which catches the wind and spins to create energy/electricity
solar power uses the sun's light for energy and wind power uses the wind to turn the turbines in windmills to create energy.
Wind power is used by a spinning turbine.
I imagine that there is much wind in Florida to generate electricity through wind power apparatus.
Wind Power is a clean and Renewable energy, because Wind Power is all around us.
I dont know you tell me!!! :-) the cost to build them and the fact that winds not as strong in every place key places would be a valley or along mountains ect.
Yes, although this means no wind, no power, no power, no computer, no computer, no wikipidia! :)
Wind power generators are used to harness the power created by wind turbines. This is considered a "green" source of energy. Some government agencies are currently investing resources in expanding wind power in their areas.
It is very difficult to give a figure. The cost of wind generated power decreases with hours of wind. Within certain limits. Typically wind power is inefficient because of the intermittent winds. Overall wind power is expensive.
many states use wind power. new Hampshire uses some wind power. although Vermont doesn't.
Wind power was used throughout antiquity to power sailing ships and later windmills. Modern wind generators appeared in the 1980s.
One limitation of wind power is there is no power supplied when the wind is not blowing. It cannot be used as a great dependable source of energy.
The Canadian Wind power Association has a nice map which shows the locations where wind generators are operating in wind farms. http://www.canwea.ca/farms/wind-farms_e.php The power is usually used nearby where it is generated.
"Wind power" in itself isn't transported, but the generators of wind power (wind turbines) are transported by delivery trucks. The energy they produce is electricity, and this is transported along cables into the grid.
wind power energy may be used by using it to brush your teeth because it helps the energy of the water create wind from the water/wind power energy.
Wind power only produces power over a small range of wind speeds. Below the rated speed no power is produced. Wind is a suitable supplementary power source for grid applications as long as other, more reliable systems are in place.
Yes, wind power is environmentally friendly.
Germany is a leading wind-power user.
Global Wind Power is one meaning
yes Michigan uses wind power
The population of Siemens Wind Power is 7,800.
Siemens Wind Power was created in 1980.
Wind power isn't stored. It is immediately generated into electricity that goes straight into the power lines. This is why there has to be power lines in and area for it to be able to have a wind farm.
This is a value/opinion question which cannot be answered here. You'll have to decide for yourself. (That said, "switching" to wind power is an exceedingly bad idea: what happens when there's no wind? Using wind power to supplement existing power sources when there IS wind is a different matter.)
No it will not.
sailing, wind power, wind chimes
it depends on whether the wind is blowing, wind is better when the wind is constantly blowing, but water is always going through the plant, so you will always have power
Wind power is reusable and unlimited. Wind power also has the potential to supply the planet with over 20% of its total energy usage.
By building a windmill to turn the wind power into electrical power
Small wind turbines are an effective source of wind power, but a single turbine will generate power only when the wind hits it at a specific angle and strength. This is why multiple wind turbines are often used at a single site, to pick up different gusts of wind.
one of the things wind power is replacing water driven hydroturbines that generate electricity. Ultimately, if the proper power converters are produced, wind power can eliminate our need for petroleum based power plants.
Egypt embraces the wind power..
