Character refers to the characters on your keyboard. Map is the way the computer sees the location of the keys and translates them into what character appears on your screen. File is a bit obvious but it is the location of the character map on your computer system.
In other words it is how the computer knows what to put on the screen when you press a key. If you have a special keyboard and want characters to show up properly then you need the right character map. This might be language differences or keyboard layout. Hope this helps.
To create an INI file for a Battle for Middle-earth II (BFME2) map, start by creating a text file and renaming it with the ".ini" extension. Within this file, define key sections such as [Map], [Terrain], and [Objects], specifying properties like the map name, dimensions, and various game objects. You can use existing map INI files as templates for proper formatting and structure. Finally, save the file in the appropriate directory, typically within the game's maps folder.
