A beach, or a bay.
A polder is a low lying tract of land that is commonly seen along river embankments. The people of Holland built polders as a way to keep the water from flooding their low lying land.

It is mostly low-lying but it has many swamps and marshes.
Polders are low-lying plots of land protected by dikes from a body of water. Chinampas are built up plots or "floating gardens" surrounded by water.
