Land reclamation is the creation of dry land from an area that was previously covered by water. Land reclamation can also refer to the process of recovering land that was previously damaged/abandoned and making it usable again.
Land reclamation is used by many countries to expand their available land space by filling the sea/coast with sand/rocks. There are 2 major methods of land reclamation:
A good example of land reclamation using both the landfill and empoldering method is the Palm Island of Dubai.
A good current example of a different method are The Palm Islands in Dubai. The Palm islands are technically artificial peninsulas constructed of sand dredged from the bottom of the Persian Gulf. The sand is sprayed by the dredging ships, which are guided by GPS, onto the required area in a process known as rainbowing due to the way the sand arcs when sprayed. The outer edge of each Palm's encircling crescent is a large rock breakwater. The breakwater of the Palm Jumeirah has over 7 million tons of rock. Each rock was placed individually by a crane, signed off by a diver and given a GPS coordinate
Land reclamation processes include modifying wetlands and streams or converting them to useful land for the purposes of natural development.

Land reclamation involves adding land to areas that were previously submerged underwater or in marshy areas. This process usually involves dredging soil from one location and placing it in the desired area to create new land. Land reclamation is often done to create more usable space for development, agriculture, or infrastructure projects.
