Laser Quest originated in 1984 in London, England and was purchased and brought over to North America in 1989. They currently have 58 centers in North America with another 60+ franchised overseas. All but one center in North America is corporately owned. They offer a wide variety of packages for customers from the basic walk-in customer to birthday parties, to formal team building packages for corporate and other groups. The average LQ arena is about 7,000 square feet and the arena has fog, music (typically from a Bose sound system), two levels, with mirrors and special effects painting highlighted with black lights.
