The fastest cooling volcanic rock is called pumice. It floats! It is used in some cleaning products such as "Lava Soap." It is used in Pumice Stone and other Pumice products. Basalt Rock is used in roads and concrete. The Ancient Romans discovered that concrete made with Basalt would set up under salt water. Asphalt roads made with limestone filler wear out much faster than roads made with basalt filler.
