It is absolute hell. Complete unhappiness. Overrun with anxiety, obsession, compulsion, and weariness. It's all consuming. You're constantly feeling guilty. Guilty if you eat, guilty if you don't eat, guilty if you gain, guilty if you lose. you lose all self confidence and become distrusting. You don't believe anything anyone says, especially if it's about your body image. Your hair starts to fall out and change texture. Your skin gets discoloured and extremely dry. You get fine hairs all over you as your body tries to keep itself warm after all the loss of insulating body fat and muscle. You're always extremely cold. Your bones hurt and ache a lot; sometimes you feel like you'll snap in half. If you gain weight, it feels like you're suffocating and you can't breathe. you become somewhat anti social and withdrawn and you push everyone away from you. You can't identify with all the normal people because you're not one of them. You become embarrassed of yourself because you know you have a mental disease, and yet you can't stop restricting, fasting, running. It's like you're being dragged along by your eating disorder, like it controls your life, which you really are, and everything you do. And so the only control you can find is over what you eat. You're never happy. You're too thin, but at the same time, you're also too fat. You become paranoid about everything. You actually feel pleasure when you can count your ribs by simply raising your arms and looking at them.

Anorexia is not fun. Don't try it.

hey, my name is Jenny and I hav just recently overrcome Aneroxia. I got it when I turned thirteen it ended when I was sixteen. At first ony my friends noticed but i started wearing baggy clothing I went on with it until I was 14 because my parents stop denying it and stuck me in an eating disorder hospital. Honestly and truly, ANeroxia became me...As muchas I am asamed of i now that is the truth. At first one snide comment from a boy made me go into this downward spiral. I was 5'10 and 130lbs. which I know see as not fat! but i just stopped eating. At first it was hard because i was sooo hungry but then I overcame the lead ball in my stomach until it actually hurt to eat. I would take a salt tablet and drink water everyday. I didn't eat breakfst normally so my parents sasw nothing qrong because they were not home for dinner either. My friends saw me eat nothing at lunch i lied and said BIG breakfast it soon became a nightmare them threatning me if i didnt eat they wouldtell my parents.. I had dropped 30 lbs. in 4 months. I was dicustinly skinny but i thought i was still fat. i purposelly failed out of the private school to get away from my so called friends. I got a new school (public) which meant no uniforms which lead to baggy unrevieling clothing. one day i fainted at school rushed to hospital then lots of rehab....does that make sense?

Living with anorexia can be very difficult for a person. Aspects of everyday life often involve food, which can be very stressful and anxiety-causing for the anorexic. There is a lot of taboo and secrecy that goes along with anorexia, too. As a result, most anorexics also suffer from social isolation and depression, along with other possible mental conditions like OCD or BDD which make life even more difficult on a day-to-day basis. The stress of malnutrition on the body can also cause fatigue, mood swings, dizziness, and fainting.

sometimes -- not usually. People who are anorexic do not like themselves, and if even you don't like yourself, it's hard for other people to like you.
