A municipal government is in charge of the infrastructure and safety of the people who live in that municipality. The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to building and maintaining roads; marinating or overseeing water and sewage services; building, maintaining, staffing and supplying, or overseeing an educational system; providing or overseeing law enforcement, fire and hazarded protection, public health and safety services; collecting the taxes to pay for these services. Depending on the municipality, many other types of services can also be provided.
