The Magi are the Three Wise men. ( The Bible does not enumerate them nor does it refer to them as Kings) they are more correctly associated with the Epiphany. the travel aspect and Camels make them a popular aspect of the holiday with kids- which is all well and good. There are some epiphany songs other than ( we Three Kings)- One of the better ones, rarely heard- is Prokokiev"s March of The Kings- the lyrics go- Late at Night, upon the great Highway, I met three kings of the Orient, Riding..l In the East, there shone a starry ray.. to guide these Kings upon their Noble Way. Judged from sheet-music covers the Great Highway was, what else- the Great Wall of China!
