Tropical maritime is a weather term referring to air masses, Tropical means warm-usually from tropical areas. maritime means moist, as in air masses that originated or travelled over a large body of water. Tropical maritime would describe a warm, moist air mass. The opposite would be polar,continental, referring to air masses originating near the poles and over land. This would be dry, cold air.
