There really isn't a written law stating the maximum driving age. However once you reach a certain ago you are required to retake driving tests to ensure that you are still capable of driving because naturally with age your senses are hindered and thus you have slower reflexes that are necessary to prevent accidents when driving.

There is no age limit on operating a motor vehicle in the UK, the onus is on the individual to decide when they are no longer fit (or willing) to drive.
