meaning of Hi in cold rolling mil
A tandem mill is a special type of modern rolling mill where rolling is done in one pass. In a traditional rolling mill rolling is done in several passes, but in tandem mill there are several stands (>=2 stands) and reductions take place successively. The number of stands ranges from 2 to 18. Tandem mills can be either of hot or cold rolling mill types.Advantages:Highest production rates,Optimized yield,Reduced roll consumption,Flexible productionTight tolerances for strip thickness, shape, and high surface quality,Low costs for operation, maintenance, and minimum down times.
height of the rollers in a rolling mill is normally measured from the ground level and so it is called high roll mill.
There are "robots" on Aim. They are a computer. They talk to you when you Aim them because they are there for you to talk to them and get information.
The process of sawing logs into boards is called 'milling'. The factory that does this process is called a 'sawmill' or a 'lumber mill' on the west coast of the USA.
COLD TWISTED BARS: The Cold Twisted Deformed Bars (CTD Bars) and the Thermo Mechanically Treated Bars (TMT Bars) are rolled in the same process i.e. hot rolling in a temperature of 1200oC to 1000oC drop. CTD Bar is entered into cooling bed from the final pass (roll) then kept for natural cooling and being twisted in the room temperature. The bar is stretched to some extent during twisting by which, the inside grains are in crystle forms, are crushed and thereby, the bars attains the required strength TATA TISCON rebars are 'hot rolled' from steel billet and subjected to PLC controlled on line thermo - mechanical treatment in three successive stages: (a) Quenching - The hot rolled bar leaving the final mill stand is rapidly quenched by a special water spry system. This hardens the surface of the bar to a depth optimised for each section through formation of martensitic rim while the core remains hot and austenitic. (b) Self Tempering - When the bar leaves the quenching box, the core remains hot compared to the surface allowing heat to flow from to the surface causing tempering the outer martensitic layer into a structure called Tempered Martensite. The core still remains austenitic at the stage. (c) Atomospheric Cooling - This takes place on the cooling bed where austenitic core transformed into ductile ferrite pearlite structure. Thus the final structure consists of an optimum combination of strong outer layer (tempered martensite) with ductile core (ferrite pearlite). This gives TATA TISCON its unique combination of higher strength and ductility.
The U.S. government divides rolling mill machinery into four classifications: hot rolling mill machinery (except tube rolling), cold rolling mill machinery, other roll milling machinery (including tube mill machinery)
Continou rolling mill
The pass line in a cold rolling mill passes through the center of the billet which is on the funace exit rollers and runs through each stand through the shear blades dividing the shear prior to the cooling bed. All of the guide equipment is aligned to the pass line.
The process of rolling metals into sheets is called (no surprise) rolling. The metal is passed through a rolling mill and is reduced in size in steps. The metal might be hot rolled or cold rolled, and the choice of process depends on the metal and on what the finished product needs to be like. In the case of aluminum foil, a block of aluminum is first hot rolled, and the metal is passed through the rolling mill a number of times until it is thin enough to be rolled and moved to a cold rolling mill. In the cold rolling mill, it goes through a number of roller sets until the desired thickness is achieved.
Chester Rolling Mill was created in 1873.

The top rolling mill machinery products by share are hot rolling mill machinery (47 percent); rolling mill machinery, not elsewhere classified, including tube mill machinery, processing lines, and machined rolls for rolling mills

Little Matlock Rolling Mill was created in 1882.
4-Hi is a kind of rolling mill configuration in metalworking. It means the mill has four rolls, two small and two large.
Yes it can be corrected by given small elongation 0.2 to 0.5% by TLL
