Bleeding in concrete is sometimes referred as water gain. It is a particular form of segregation, in which some of the water from the concrete comes out to the surface of the concrete, being of the lowest specific gravity among all the ingredients of concrete. Bleeding is predominantly observed in a highly wet mix, badly proportioned and insufficiently mixed concrete. In thin members like roof slab or road slabs and when concrete is placed in sunny weather show excessive bleeding.
Due to bleeding, water comes up and accumulates at the surface. Sometimes, along with this water, certain quantity of cement also comes to the surface. When the surface is worked up with the trowel, the aggregate goes down and the cement and water come up to the top surface. This formation of cement paste at the surface is known as "Laitance". In such a case, the top surface of slabs and pavements will not have good wearing quality. This laitance formed on roads produces dust in summer and mud in rainy season.
The meaning of bleeding in concrete is where water is released from the mixture and it moves upward. This can cause the finished product to be more dense but can cause consistency issues.
exceed mixing and compacting
exceed mixing and compacting
By means of proper compactionBy adopting appropriate water-cement ratiosegregation and bleeding should be prevented
In case of long haul involved in delivering ready-mixed concrete to the site of work, concrete is mixed intermittently to reduce the bad effect of continuous mixing. A pertinentpoint to note in this connection is that when the concrete is mixed or agitated from time to time with a short interval, the normal rule of initial setting time is not becoming applicable. The concrete that is kept in agitation, does not exactly follow the setting time rule as applicable to concrete kept in an unagitated and quiescent condition.workability is the ease and homogenity with which the concrete can be mixed , transported , poured , consolidated and finishedThe more the water cement ratio the more workable the concrete will be , but it does not mean that we should keep on increasing water cement ratio because it will decrease the strength and will cause bleeding and segregation of concrete 08ce69 quaid e awam university nawabshah

Vibration is a process by which fully compacted concrete is achived.Importance:Prevents honeycombingPrevents segregation and bleeding of concreteExpuls air from concrete.
exceed mixing and compacting
The separation of constituents in a heterogeneous mixture creating a non-uniform distribution of concrete mixture.
By means of proper compactionBy adopting appropriate water-cement ratiosegregation and bleeding should be prevented
Segregation in concrete is a case of particle segregation in concrete applications, in which particulate solids tend to segregate by virtue of differences in the size, density, shape and other properties of particles of which they are composed. Bleeding (conc.) The term given to the process by which water rises to the surface giving a puddling effect on top of the laid concrete. This is caused by excessive water in the mix, particularly prominent in cold weather.

1. Venous bleeding (bleeding from the veins). 2. Arterial bleeding (bleeding from the arteries). 3. Capillary bleeding.
Rusty concrete is there such a thing? If the concrete is rusty because it was stained by steel laying on it, that will be easy. Clean the concrete with some muratic acid (follow the instructions on the jug), rinse it, then paint it with concrete paint. Your local hardware store can provide different colors and options depending on the product line(s) they carry. If your concrete is rusty because the rebar is rusting and the rust is bleeding through, you have a problem. You need to remove all of the spalling, loose, and unstable material from around the rebar and then patch the spot. You might be able to prep the area with a pressure washer or you might need a cold chisel. Rusting steel rebar destroys concrete because it swells and splits the concrete. The surface needs to be sound before you paint. Painting is easy, surface prep always takes the most time.
