I think it refers to the deck created by Arthur E. Waite and Pamela Colman Smith, often referred to as the "Rider-Waite" deck, but which I prefer to call the Waite-Smith deck.
Waite was a mystic who believed his mystical ideas allowed him to see the deficiencies in the common Tarot decks of his time, and to make corrections to them. I'm not sure of all the details; however, I do know that he switched the places of a couple of cards, and gave The Fool the number 0.
Because Waite considered his version the "correct" one, he called his deck "rectified."

∙ 11y agoIt means that they dont shuffle the cards upside down (since the cards have both reverse meaning and divinatory meanings). So in a rectified deck, therse ONLY a divinatory meaning read. Which means that the deck is 1/2 of the full one.
