in contrast, an acid is a substance which contains a hydrogen (H) group.
For instance:
HCl - Hydrochloric acis
NaOH - Sodium hydroxide
H2O - Hydrogen Hydroxide (also known as "water")
H2O is both an acid and a base at the same time: That's why it's nuetral!
