An induction motor is so-called because the currents circulating in the machine's rotor are due to voltages induced into the rotor conductors through 'transformer action' from the field windings located on the stator. In other words, there is no external electrical supply to the rotor which, instead, behaves in a similar manner to the secondary winding of a transformer.

FIRST THING I WANT TO KNOW THAT WHETHER YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT INDUCTION MACHINE OR SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE? IN INDUCTION MACHINE, RATIO OF VOLTAGE TO FREQUENCY MUST BE SAME FOR CONSTANT TORQUE. IN THESE CASE AS YOU CAN SEE, V/f RATIO IS NOT CONSTANT THEN INDUCTION MOTOR WOULD NOT RUN.

The number of poles determines the speed a machine has to turn (RPMs). The more poles, the slower the machine can turn. I don't believe your statement is true. I've seen synchronous generators, for example, that turn at 1200 RPMS, and induction motors that turn at ~1800RPMs.
