kernel is the core part of operating system or most frequently used programs of operating system which are able to solve most of the requests raised by the users.. since operating system is a huge collection of programs it becomes difficult to load entire OS from disk to RAM in the booting process. so instead of loading entire OS it loads the crust of the OS which can solve almost all the requests raised by users and this crust part of OS is called KERNEL.

Incase if this is not able to solve any complex requests then the required programs to sove these complex requests are taken from OS by raising an explicit request

How do you convert a C program into a Linux kernel module?

Quick Answer: You don't. Long Answer: It will need a fundamental change before you can have a module that does anything similar. Kernel modules don't have the same purpose as programs. Kernel Modules are meant for device support and similar things. More than likely you don't actually want to move the program to kernel space.
