The watt is the unit of electrical power. It is calculated by multiplying the voltage across a circuit by the current passing through the circuit.

The watt is named for James Watt who dramatically improved the steam engine and defined the unit of power called the "horsepower" to help describe the amount of work his new engines could perform in terms potential customers already understood (i.e. how much work one horse can perform).

What is meant by load on a motor in eletrical engineering term?

The load on a motor can be measured in watts, and it is the mechanical torque supplied, multiplied by the speed of the shaft. When the torque is in Newton-metres and the speed is in radians/second, the mechanical power output result is in watts.

What higher 45000 btu or 1500 watts?

1 watt is equal to 3.41 btu/h. multiply 1 by 1500 and we get 1500 watts. multiply 3.41 by 1500 and we get 5115btu/h. Therefore we can come to the conclusion that 1500 watts < 45000 btu. 45000btu/h is higher than over 10 times 1500 watts.simplified answer = 45000 btu is hilariously higher than 1500 watts.-Tychusfindlay919P.S. if you meant 4500 btu/h then 1500 watts is higher

Where do you put a 60v bulb?

If you meant 60w (or watts) then it is used primarily in small table lamps and closets. If you meant 60 v (or volts) then you could use it in series with another 60v bulb on a standard household 120v circuit.

Volts per hour is an invalid statement. You may have meant Watts per Hour.

How many watts can can you use with a 20 amp 110 volt outlet?

If you are asking about 220 watts, remember Watts equal power, which is Volts times Amps. Amps are used to measure current - how many electrons flow past a certain point per second - so there is no answer to this question. If you meant to ask what current a load of 220 Watts would take if the applied voltage was 110 Volts, the answer is 220 Watts divided by 110 Volts = 2 Amps.

How many volts in 90 watts?

Wrong question. I assume that this pertains to a car and not a house. All modern cars run on a 12-volt system. So what I think you meant to ask is "how many AMPS in 90 watts at 12 volts?". Watts divided by volts equals amps, so 90 watts divided by 12 volts equals 7.5 amps. If you are trying to wire in a car stereo amp, better go with a 10 amp fuse.
