It should be stuck together in a group of gears and the gear module is the same.
The control module looks at inputs from all the sensors. Based on the data it's getting, it computes air/fuel ratios and tells the transmission when to shift gears.
maybe ignition control module or map sensor
Some of the top signs of a transmission issue would be that the car isn't switching gears or it is noisy when in neutral. Other signs would be that their is a bad smell.

No they do not have gears
Well in most cars there are 5 gears and the reverse. Don't forget the timing gears, steering gears and differential gears.
I believe this term has some application with teeth in Gearing, as in mechanical engineering, akin to the Metric Module, diametral pitch, and number of teeth per inch, ratio, etc. obviously model gears are made up before production models- those used on gear-making machines are sometimes called master gears- the blanks are cut after the master patterns, so to speak, could also be model, maybe Module-which refers to metric gearing.
The 3.2 liter V6 most certainly does. It is located under the carpet beneath the passenger side front seat. If you see the "check trans" light and your tranny is in limp mode (L and 3rd gears only), the connectors to the transmission control module may be loose.
Camshaft gears are the gears that drive shaft that operates the cams.
