Monoblock amps are two separate power amps, one for each channel.They are housed in separate cases. " Dual-mono" power amps are separate power amps-each with its own transformer, but in a single case. Both types are fed by a stereo pre- amplifier.Most amplifiers on the market have only one transfomer supplying both channels.Monoblocks are at the high end.
