any type of electric used for heat is expensive. but heating the home is cheaper in the long run because it use's 220 volts of electric heat. were as a fireplace would use 115 volts. which draws more amps then running on 220 volts
An Electric Fireplace will run about $30 plus an added electric fees for roughly 5 hours a day for a month. The cost depends on your Electric Companies rates
Yes, there can be heat warping and staining on a white electric fireplace if it used for a very long time. They last a while though.
The biggest difference between an electric fireplace and a regular fireplace is the ability to move it where the heat is needed. A regular fireplace is placed in one area unable to be moved, whereas a electric fireplace can be moved throughout various locations in the house. The only other difference is electric fireplaces require power causing electric bills to go higher, whereas regular fireplaces just require wood.
only if you like heat or have an electric heater. If it doesn't use gas & is an open-heated fireplace, then yes.
A 1500 watt Electric fireplace will heat 400 square feet to a comfortable temperature within 30 minutes. Thus you won't have to turn on the house heat or be able to keep it at a lower setting. A Electric Fireplace cost about $30 a month to run 5-6 hours a day.

Not a good idea. People that designed your gas fireplace did not design it to have a separate heat source in there with the gas piping and controls.
You must have a heat pump with electric auxilliary heat.
Better, in a heat efficient way, because there is no loss of heat, with a real one,you need to vent exhaust fumes and at the same time you lose heat. A real fireplace looks better but is less efficient.
Central heat may run on gas, oil, propane, electric, geothermal or solar.
Electric fireplace comes with many types and shapes. You need to select a best model according to your personal preferences, like- freestanding or wall mounting or fireplace with tv stand. Freestanding fireplaces are best option for portability. These are also cost effective and provide sufficient heat to your room. On the other hand, wall mount electric fireplace are best for people with very limited space. Because, they can be recessed into the wall. I have been using **Chazelles Fireplaceโ**s Multi 49 model. This type of fireplace are cozy and cheaper than the freestanding version. If youโve sufficient space available in your living room, then you may like the fireplace with tv stand models. They looks pretty cool. I personally own a fireplace with tv center. Visit them @ www chazellesfireplaces com au
Electric Fireplaces use a resistor to "radiate" the heat, rather than a flame. THe "flame" you see is usually a bulb in the background.
An electric fireplace may seem like an indoor only choice, but there are actually quite a few outdoor electric fireplace options on the market. These outdoor electric fireplaces can provide all the heat and comfort of a gas or wood burning fireplace without the danger of burning something. Consider using an electric fireplace when you want to set up long term outdoor heating solution that won't require the maintenance and constant cleaning of a wood or gas option. Electric fireplaces are also a great choice for safety in dry climates and areas where fire might get out of control quickly.
