.44 Magnum
A 44 magnum is more powerful than a 45calibur
.44 Magnum is the more powerful cartridge.
the .357 magnum is the 7th most powerful gun in the U.S. the ones above it starts at 500 smith and wesson,460 S&W,.50 action express,454 cassul, .44 magnum, 41 magnum, .357 magnm, ect
The Desert Eagle was made in several calibers- one of which WAS the .44 magnum.
The 44 magnum accuracy is improved for longer range, but the 50ae projectile is far more damaging.
I'd imagine that at closer ranges (like 50 yards or closer) the .44 Magnum is much more powerful. But it is a handgun round, which loses power fairly quickly. The M-16 shoots a small diameter bullet (.223) but is accurate and more powerful at a longer distance.
There are a number of different "44"cartridges. If you mean the .44 magnum, it has more energy than the 9mm Parabellum cartridge (9mm Luger) The 44 magnum is about 1,200 ft lbs of muzzle energy, the 9mm about 570 ft lbs.
the 500 caliber is reported to have about 3 times the knockdown energy as the .44 magnum at 100 yards; but, for me, if I had to choose between the two, I'd still stick with the .44 magnum as its more than enough to stop large game animals and the price of the ammo is much less--also, much less recoil.
I'm not aware of a .45 Magnum. There is a .44 Magnum. The 44 magnum is typically a revolver round, very high power. The 45 ACP is typically used in semi-automatic pistols. The 45 ACP is not as powerful compared to the 44 magnum (mostly due to the amount of propellant in the 44 magnum compared to the 45 acp).
Strictly speaking, it would be a magnum CARTRIDGE- bullet is the part of the cartridge that comes out of the muzzle. In champagne and wine, a magnum is a larger thna normal bottle. The term was borrowed by the firearms industry to indicate a larger, more powerful cartridge. Thus you have the .44 Special, and it's big bother, the .44 Magnum.
