Mouse button options are just basic instructions put out there to explain how a mouse generally works.
Left-clicking will almost always open a folder, file etc. if clicked on. (windows operating system)
A pop-up menu often appears when you right-click within table editors. (Windows operating system)
The middle mouse button is usually to scroll down or up on a page that has a scroll bar on the side. It's often used in first-person shooter games to switch between weapons.
