Ducks waddle because they have large bodies (so that they can float well) and small feet.
Ducks are too heavy, they sway sideways when walking. Their feet are also shaped like paddles more for swimming and not so much for walking. So when they walk, they move from side to side. This is called waddling.
Similarly, rabbits hop, frogs jump, Dogs run, birds fly , fishes swim.
Chickens of either gender will scratch (dig at the ground) in search of bugs or other interesting things to eat.
That's the only movement specific to chickens (and other poultry) that actually has a name different from other species' movements.
Owls can both walk and fly.
