A Masters of Science is a post-graduate degree indicating some study after a normal collegiate degree, but less than that required for a Ph.D. It may or may not be a research degree (Ph.D.s are nearly always research degrees).

Yes. There is Masters of Science and Masters of Engineering. You can also do doctor of philosphy(PhD) or Doctor of Engineering(ED).
I'd take the more general degree first - ME, and do the specialty degree as MS - AE, if you can find it.

The Masters of Science (MS) is a degree category which incorporates many fields of study. Compared to a Masters of Arts (MA), the MS is usually more science focused to include exact sciences, math, and technology based course work. Typically a masters degree in engineering falls under the MS category.
