Najeon-chilgi is traditional Korean lacquer ware with mother-of-pearl inlay. It is made by attaching shell patterns crafted from abalone, conch and mother-of -pearl to the lacquered surface of a ware and lacquering again over the inlay. Traditional Korean handicrafts are manufactured utilizing fine-grained aged trees (mostly red pine), Hanji (traditional Korean paper), and various time-honored lacquering methods.
